#Scottish CCs Twitter Hour: Community Engagement

Advert for the second Scottish CCs Twitter HourThe Improvement Service’s Community Council project hosted our second Scottish Community Councils Hour on Twitter on 7 March 2017. Starting at 8pm, we tweeted six questions over the course of an hour, encouraging community councils on Twitter to get involved by using the hashtag #ScottishCCs.

The theme of the night was about community engagement and over the very active hour participating community councillors discussed how they currently engage with their community and who they would like to better interact with. During the hour, community councillors also identified engagement barriers to getting involved in community council work and suggested ideas and shared advice on ways to overcome these barriers.

We plan to do more Scottish Community Councils Hours on Twitter in the future and we welcome theme and topic suggestions.

The aim of the Scottish Community Councils Twitter Hour was to create a space where community councils could share knowledge, discuss experiences, and network, and also to raise awareness of the great work community councils do and encourage others to get involved locally.
