In this section you can find out what support is available in each local authority area to help with the cost of living.

Help with the cost of living from Aberdeen City Council. who are working  together with partner organisations across Aberdeen to provide a range of public warm spaces that will provide an opportunity for people to come together, share and use resources.

The Scottish Government Cost of Living Award offers support for low-income households to help tackle the cost of living crisis.

Scarf is a charity/social enterprise delivering a range of energy advice services to communities throughout the North East.

Cfine provides access to food, skills development and financial support such as budgeting advice and benefits checks.

Pittodrie Community Hub, operated by Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the SPFL Trust, welcomes local people into the Players' Lounge at Pittodrie football ground every Thursday to enjoy free hot food, tea and coffee as well as access to cost of living advice from local organisations.

AberNecessities provides disadvantaged families with the essential and basic necessities, from maternity bundles for mother and baby to nappies, formula milk, clothing, toys and equipment for children aged 0-18 years.

Scarf is a charity/social enterprise delivering a range of energy advice services to communities throughout the North East.

Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action has created a map of Warm Spaces in the region.

Gordon Rural Action provides an advice and support service through the Huntly Advice Hub, as well as providing other services like their School Uniform Exchange and Baby Bank.

There are a number of Citizens Advice Bureau services throughout Aberdeenshire.  and Inverurie

The Trussell Trust has a foodbank in Banchory and Inverurie.

Help with the cost of living from Angus Council including community spaces, benefits and money advice.

Householders in Angus with prepayment meters, direct debit accounts, and oil accounts could benefit from financial assistance, thanks to HeatWell, a new scheme to be delivered by Scarf on behalf of Angus Council.  Angus residents can find out if they can get help with energy bills on the Scarf website.

Argyll and Bute Council have created three dedicated pages on their website to provide support and advice for families during the cost of living crisis.

The council have also pulled together information to help residents to manage rising fuel costs.

Arygyll and Bute TSI has created a cost of living resource page, including a local Warm Spaces map.

Argyll, Lomond and the Islands Energy Agency (ALIEnergy) provides energy advice to local people.

Bute Advice Centre provides support on a range of issues including debt management, welfare rights, consumer rights, housing and energy.

Various cost of living support services are provided by Argyll and Bute Citizens Advice Bureau.

Clackmannanshire Council provide online and in person sources of advice, information and practical support on income and benefits, heating and food, health and wellbeing, housing costs and support for businesses.

The council also has a list of other sources of help and support.

The Gate is a local charity based in Alloa which supports vulnerable and homeless people with meals and new home starter packs, as well as running a food and school uniform bank.

Various cost of living support services are provided by Clackmannanshire Citizens Advice Bureau.

The Comhairle has identified funding to support community groups’ work to assist with the current cost-of living pressures.

Dumfries and Galloway Council has a dedicated website to help residents with cost-of-living increases. The site is a one-stop shop detailing help with money and benefits, household bills, finding work, health and wellbeing, as well as support for families, young people, the elderly, and disabled.

Dundee City Council's website contains links to sources of help and advice from the Council, its partners and external organisations.

The Dundee Partnership also has its own cost of living resource with contact details for local organisations which can provide help and support.

The Brooksbank Centre provides debt and benefits advice, and advisers also have a presence in GP surgeries across the city.

Dundee's Open Doors is an interactive online map to help people find local Warm Spaces.

East Ayrshire Council has listed the different types of support available to help with the cost of living, from government financial help, money advice, community support, local services and more.

East Ayrshire Money is a partnership of agencies who provide free information, impartial advice and/or services relating to a wide range of issues to residents of East Ayrshire.

East Dunbartonshire Council have dedicated an area of their website to cost of living support with information including Scottish Child Payment, Warm Spaces and Energy Bills Support.

The East Dunbartonshire Income Maximisation Service is available to all East Dunbartonshire residents and provides free confidential advice if you are experiencing any financial worries or hardships.

City of Edinburgh Council have services and advice that can help people struggling with the cost of living.

Edinburgh Food Project currently employs three Budgeting, Benefits and Debt advisers to help clients with any financial difficulties they may be facing.

Changeworks provides fuel poverty and energy advice in Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Clothing Store supplies free clothes, bedding and towels for those in need, while the Edinburgh School Uniform Bank can provide new and nearly-new school clothing.

Various cost of living support services are provided by Citizens Advice Edinburgh.

Support is available to residents of Falkirk Council who may be struggling financially or emotionally due to the rising cost of living.

CVS Falkirk have also pulled together some information, guidance and resources available, which try to lessen the impact of the crisis on their communities.

Fife Council have a dedicated website offering support with the cost of living.

Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) offer specialist advice on particular issues such as cost of living.

Our Fife has also created an online listing of local cost of living resources, including an interactive map.

Cosy Kingdom provides a free energy and debt advice service available to all Fife residents.

Glasgow City Council provides a comprehensive list on their website of some recommended Government approved pathways that are available for free, impartial and confidential money advice and support.

Glasgow Life is working with a number of local partners to provide  cost of living advice and support within their libraries.

G.Heat is an energy advice service for tenants and householders across Glasgow.

Search the database of advice centres on the GAIN (Glasgow Advice and Information Network) website for local help.

There are a number of Citizens Advice Bureaux across Glasgow including Bridgeton, Drumchapel, Glasgow North West, Parkhead and Glasgow Central in the city centre.

GEMAP is an independent service giving advice to help people make the most of their money.

The Highland Council has a dedicated section of their website which offers advice and information services and also includes an essential guide to benefits, money advice, energy advice and other support.

Highland TSI has an online interactive map of foodbanks and food pantries where people struggling with the cost of living crisis can get help with food supplies.

There are a number of Citizens Advice Bureaux across the Highland region, including Ross & Cromarty, Inverness, Strathspey & Badenoch, Lochaber and Caithness.

Inverclyde Council's Warm Hand of Friendship initiative is helping to ensure that spaces, resources, advice and support are available throughout the area. There's information on managing money, free activities for the kids and welcoming places for just a simple cup of tea and a chat.

The Inverclyde Home Energy Advice Service (I.Heat) offers impartial energy advice and support to any Inverclyde resident.

Financial Fitness is a charitable company providing free, independent and impartial welfare benefit and money advice services to the residents of Inverclyde.

Inverclyde Advice First is a service provided by Inverclyde HSCP and Legal Services Agency in partnership with Financial Fitness with funding from the Scottish Legal Aid Board to provide debt, benefits and housing advice.

Inverclyde Community Food Network provides emergency food packages as well as free lessons on cooking on a budget.

REAP (Rural Environmental Action Project) provides energy advice to residents across the Moray region.

Moray Food Plus runs community pantries and provides emergency food packages.

North Ayrshire Council offer a range of support for people in the area struggling due to the increased cost of living.

Money Matters provides welfare rights assistance and representation to North Ayrshire residents to ensure they receive their legal entitlement to state benefits.

North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership has put together an online cost of living hub with information on local resources.

North Lanarkshire Council have published a range of support and local information to help residents with rising costs.

Cumbernauld Poverty Action provides advice, support, guidance and training to local people in the Cumbernauld and surrounding areas affected by poverty and/or disability.

There are a number of Citizens Advice Bureaux across including Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld & Kilsyth and Motherwell & Wishaw.

Orkney Islands Council have listed services and advice on their helping hand page that can help their residents to cope with rising costs.

Thaw Orkney provides energy advice and also helps people to access to wider energy support schemes.

Orkney Money Matters is a new partnership project which has been developed by a group of local third sector and statutory organisations. It aims reduce the levels of financial insecurity in Orkney by increasing access to advice and cash-based support.

The Heat Project provides advice on energy bills and energy efficiency to people living in the Perth and Kinross area.

South  Ayrshire Council offers a free, confidential and impartial information and advice service to people living in the area. Advisors are fully trained to deal with welfare rights and issues related to money and debt advice.

South Lanarkshire Council offers a wide range of support that will help residents with the cost of living including the Warm Welcome initiative. Warm Welcome is a network of places where residents can go, and you can find local venues on the website.

Money is not the only problem is an online resource that can gain access to help, support and guidance available to individuals and families regarding finances and wellbeing.  The resource provides a wealth of information as well as relevant contact details on each topic.

The Money Matters Advice Service is a free and confidential service that helps people living in South Lanarkshire or working for South Lanarkshire Council to claim benefits and deal with debt.

Various cost of living support services are provided by Hamilton Citizens Advice Bureau.

The Trussell Trust has foodbanks in Rutherglen & Cambuslang, Larkhall and Hamilton.

Stirling Council has a guide for residents on how they can get information and advice on issues like grants, reducing bills and sourcing support for mental health issues to help with the cost of living.
