Cultivating a healthy culture around conflict

Cultivating a healthy culture around conflict

Hosted by Imagine If and Place at the Table this free training session offers an opportunity for Community Councils (CCs) to explore some foundational principles and practices to help develop a healthy culture around conflict.

Handled constructively, disagreement can lead to better outcomes.  But destructive conflict can be exhausting and damaging. The goal of this training is to support CCs to be able to process difference
and tension in a healthy way and cultivate a culture of both high quality decision making and relational trust.

In this free, interactive session, we will draw on insights from peacebuilding practice such as:

  • the work of peacebuilding specialist John Paul Lederach
  • Murray and Bowen’s Family Systems Theory
  • principles of Civic Mediation developed by the Centre for Good Relations
  • practical, group-oriented consensus-building techniques (for example, finger voting and the human rainbow)
  • participant’s own experiences and insights

Join us for this session on Wednesday 22nd April 5:30pm to 7:00pm
