Public events to discuss Fireworks Control Zones

The Scottish Government is holding a series of community workshops to discuss the introduction of Firework Control Zones (FCZs).

Firework Control Zones (FCZs) are one of the new measures introduced as part of The Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Act 2022 which was passed by the Scottish Parliament in June last year.

FCZs will give local authorities the power to designate areas where it will only be permitted to use fireworks as part of a public fireworks display, or by a person who is employed by, or acting under the direction of, a regulatory authority and using fireworks for that purpose.

Public events are being held in Glasgow, Wishaw, Edinburgh, Blackburn and Dundee between 27 February and 17 March, with an online event for those unable to attend in person on 31 March.
