Consultation on Scottish Government Energy Strategy

19 January 2023

Consultation on Scottish Government Energy Strategy

The Scottish Government has published a draft Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan setting out a vision for Scotland's energy system to 2045.

A public consultation on the draft Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan has also been launched, providing an opportunity for communities, workers, citizens and businesses to engage in the process of designing Scotland’s energy transition

To realise Scotland’s climate change ambitions, there is a need to transform the way Scotland generates, transports and uses energy. The draft Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan sets out the scale of that opportunity and provides clarity on how Scotland will prepare for a Just Transition.

The Scottish Government will review responses to the consultation and the issues raised during engagement with stakeholders to inform development of the final version of the Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan.

The consultation paper can be found on the Scottish Government website, and responses must be submitted by 4 April 2023.
