Details of this year’s Month of Community have been announced by Eden Project Communities.
The Month of Community is celebrated throughout the month of June and incorporates a number of other community events including the Big Lunch and, for this year only, the Big Jubilee Lunch celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Month of Community is an opportunity to celebrate everything that makes our communities great, to bring our neighbourhoods closer together and to shine a light on the amazing communities we live in.
Last year, over 15 million people took part in the first ever Month of Community, and the event has established partnerships with other community events taking place in June, including Volunteers Week, Neighbourhood Watch Week and the Scottish Refugee Festival.
Communities and community councils can get involved in a number of ways, from organising your own Big Lunch events to promoting and supporting Month of Community activities taking place in your local area.
