Cycling UK‘s Shift funding programme, open to organisations or community groups based in Scotland, is now open to applications for 2022.
The scheme has changed from last year and is now more comprehensive, offering organisations up to £1500 of funding plus additional support from a local Development Officer to cover the increased range of activities Shift is supporting.
The Shift initiative is designed to fund projects which encourage and support more people to use bicycles for short journeys within their community, such as
- Bike try-out sessions with training to build confidence
- Essential repair skills
- Bike security advice
- Education sessions to ensure people ride safely
If you have a project or an idea which might benefit from Shift funding, the first step is to contact your local Development Officer. Information on how to do this can be found on the Cycling UK website. These Development officers will work with organisations to agree on a programme that meets their needs and the organisation will then be invited to apply following these initial discussions.
