As part of the upcoming Month of Community in June, we will be celebrating Community Councils in Scotland and all the amazing work they do to support and improve their local area.
We want to showcase the best that Community Councils have to offer using the #CelebrateCCs hashtag on social media throughout June – and we want community councils and local people to get involved.
If you have a project that you’re particularly proud of, share it on your own social media channels using the #CelebrateCCs hashtag or tag us on Facebook (@Community Councils Scotland) and Twitter (@ScottishCCs). We will be sharing the best stories throughout the month of June, and there may even be an opportunity to feature on the Community Councils Scotland website.
The aim of #CelebrateCCs is to highlight the positive impact community councils have in their areas and to help community councils share their knowledge and experience of undertaking different projects. We want to raise the profile of community councils and encourage individuals and other organisations to learn more about them.
#CelebrateCCs has been running for a number of years, usually in April, but this year we have moved the event to June to become part of the wider Month of Community celebration, coordinated by Eden Project Communities.
We are looking forward to seeing some great examples from across Scotland of how community councils have supported local groups, improved their environment, and used consultations and participatory budgeting (PB) to engage with the wider community.
The Month of Community and #CelebrateCCs starts on 1st June.
