Scotland’s Climate Festival promoting local climate change events

Community councils are being invited to join Scotland’s Climate Festival, a network of groups organising local events to tackle climate change in their own communities.

Co-ordinated by Keep Scotland Beautiful, Scotland’s Climate Festival is offering community councils support from national agencies, such as Sustrans, Zero Waste Scotland and Community Energy Scotland, to organise and promote their climate change event.

There is also a small amount of seed funding available for community organisations which are trying to get their climate change events up and running.

As well as promotion on the Scotland’s Climate Festival website, community councils can develop contacts with a network of other community organisations in Scotland which are working on climate change projects, empowering them to take action in their own local area.

Whether you have an event that is already scheduled to take place, or whether you simply have an idea for an event which could take place in your community, the Scotland’s Climate Festival website will be able to provide you with information and key contacts.
