Nominations are being sought for the Scottish Civic Trust’s My Place Awards which celebrate community-led built environment projects.
The My Place Awards are a great opportunity to showcase a project's success to the community, stakeholders and funders by receiving much-deserved exposure and media attention. Shortlisted entries will feature in a public exhibition and receive PR support from the Scottish Civic Trust.
Eligible projects include new buildings, historic buildings or monuments that have been reused or refurbished, designed public realm schemes such as street-works or parks, and designed landscapes such as gardens or public green spaces.
Community groups responsible for a built environment project can enter by filling out the My Place Awards entry form and the deadline for entries is 6 February 2022.
Submissions will be considered for projects completed between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2021 that fit into one of the following criteria:
A New buildings
B Historic buildings or monuments that have been reused or refurbished
C Designed public realm schemes such as streetworks, parks, etc.
D Designed landscapes e.g. gardens or public green spaces
Projects will be judged based on criteria including community involvement and benefit, build design and quality, preservation of enhancement of the local built environment, and the achievements of the project.
The judging panel will be appointed and managed by the Scottish Civic Trust and will have knowledge of and interest in Scotland’s buildings, places and spaces. After an initial review of submissions, shortlisted entries will be visited by at least one member of the judging panel. During these visits, judges will want to speak with a member of the community group responsible for the project.
