Join Rural Parliament 2016 in Brechin

Scottish Rural Parliament logoRural community groups and people who live or work in rural Scotland are invited to attend Rural Parliament 2016 in Brechin, Angus. The event, planned by Scottish Rural Action, will take place from 6th to 8th October and aims to set out the priorities for action between 2016 and 2018.


Scottish Rural Action is a non-profit, apolitical organisation that is independent of Scottish Government. The organisation supports the development of a rural movement and organises Scotland’s Rural Parliament. For more information please visit www.scottishruralparliament.org.uk/about-us/


Rural Parliament takes place every two years and is a participatory event where people connected to rural Scotland discuss rural issues amongst themselves and with policy makers to work towards improved policy and future action. Rural Parliament was held in 2014 in Oban.


This year’s Rural Parliament will bring together 400 people from across rural Scotland and a Manifesto, which will outline collective ambitions and needs, will be decided. Information on the Manifesto can be found at www.scottishruralparliament.org.uk/a-rural-manifesto-for-scotland/


Anyone who lives or works in rural Scotland, or who makes decisions which affect rural Scotland, can attend the Rural Parliament. Places are limited so people are encourage to register their interest in attending.
