News story posted: 02/07/2020

The Soil Association are offering £150 grants as part of their Food for Life programme. The Soil Association are offering £150 grants to kick start Get Together activities for new applicants including community councils in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverclyde as part of their Food for Life Scotland programme.

They have space for a number of applications before the next review point of 10th July with payments to be made on 24th July. Community councils interested in applying can download an application form (which contains revised guidance) by visiting the Soil Association Food for Life website.

The Soil Association and Food for Life Get Together are working hard to reach out to communities to offer support and they are keen to create and share innovative ways of connecting communities through good food.

On 29th July 2020 they will be holding a virtual Get Together from 10am-12pm called “Bridging the Distance – Re-connecting our communities through good food” and they would love community councils based in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverclyde to join them.  Attendees will be asked to share what they’ve been doing around food over the last few months as well as any ideas about how we can re-connect through food during these uncertain times. More details will follow soon including how to book your space on the screen!

Although the Soil Association can only offer grants to applicants who have not received a grant previously, they are happy to look at applications from partners that communities have been working with to enable their work together to continue.

The Soil Association is the UK's leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use.  The Food for Life Scotland programme, funded by the Scottish Government is delivered by Soil Association Scotland.
