Dear Community Councillor,
Fairer Scotland Event – Invite to Community Councillors
On 19 June 2015 the Scottish Government launched the Creating a Fairer Scotland Programme where people across Scotland are being asked to take part in a national discussion, about how the country can be a fairer and more equal place to live. Based on the local experience and expertise of people and communities, we hope to bring together new and on-going discussions, as well as take on board practical solutions and ideas to tackling poverty and inequality in Scotland. More information can be found at www.fairer.scot
Community councils provide an important role by representing the views of their local community and I would be keen to hear views from across the country. I am therefore pleased to invite you to a Fairer Scotland event for one hundred community councillors on Wednesday 16th September 2015 from 10:30 to 16:00 at the Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre, 13 Whitevale St, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G31 1QW. To give you a flavour of the discussions I would be interested to know:
what issues matter most to you as a community councillor?;
what do you think needs to be done to help community councils create a fairer Scotland?; and
how can your community council play a role in helping to shape Scotland’s future?
