The Fairer Scotland Engagement Fund, administered by Voluntary Action Fund (VAF), has been launched to help small voluntary groups and community associations run an event or activity to discuss how to make the country a fairer and more equal place to live in the future.
Fairer Scotland campaign was launched by The Scottish Government in June 2015 and is comprised of several events across the country where communities and local associations can make suggestions on what they think can be done to create a place where people are healthier, happier, and treated with respect. More information about the campaign can be found at http://fairer.scot/
VAF’s Fairer Scotland Engagement Fund offers grants of up to £300 to community groups and voluntary organisations across Scotland so that they can organise their own Fairer Scotland event that engages their community.
Discussions and engagement should be around:
- What are the issues that matter most to people?
- What do people think needs to be done?
- How can people and their community play a role in helping to shape our future?
The funded group should submit a report of their event’s discussions to Voluntary Action Fund by
23 October 2015.
Applications can be submitted any time from now until Monday 12 October 2015.
Discussions and engagement ideally should take place before 16 October 2015.
