Community Councillors are invited to attend free Digital Engagement Workshops in South Ayrshire, Moray, Angus, and Scottish Borders.
The aims of the workshops are to allow community councillors to network and share their experiences and problems they have with engaging with local community via the internet, and to help create a pool of digital engagement expertise and resources for community councils across Scotland.
These events are funded by the Scottish Government as part of the work to enhance the role of community councils in collaboration with COSLA and the Improvement Service. The workshops are organised by Peter Cruickshank and Bruce Ryan of Edinburgh Napier University’s Centre for Social Informatics, and will be led by Bruce Ryan. They will be similar to a highly successful workshop held in January 2015 funded and hosted by Edinburgh Napier University. Information on the previous workshop can be found here:

Community councillors from across Scotland are welcome to attend. Lunch will be provided but travel expenses will not be reimbursed. There are limited places at each workshop and, to encourage maximise coverage, places will be allocated to one delegate per CC.
Guest speakers and all-delegate discussions will be recorded to maximise the learning from these workshops. However, the small group discussions will not be recorded. The learning will also be uploaded on this website, which is funded by the Scottish Government and hosted by the Improvement Service, and on the Knowledge Hub in the Scottish Community Councillors Development Network group.
