Community Path Grants Available Now

News story posted: 20/06/2019

Workers building a community pathOver 40 community and volunteer groups took advantage of Community Paths Grants last year, sharing £90,000 to improve, maintain or promote paths.

This year's fund is now open and Paths for All are accepting expressions of interest until 30th June. The scheme is open to all constituted groups in Scotland including community councils.  Grants of £1500 to £3000 are available.

Paths for all are running two funds: Community Paths Grants, supported by Scottish Natural Heritage, and Community Active Travel Grants, supported by Transport Scotland.

Community Path Grants can be used to improve, maintain or construct paths. They can also be used to promote paths, for example erecting signage or producing leaflets.

Community Active Travel Grants can be used for projects that make it easier for people to travel actively more often and reduce car journeys. The funding could be used to promote and signpost active travel routes; improve and develop routes that will make it easier to walk and cycle when making short everyday journeys or maintain active travel routes and ensure that they are accessible.
