Be Kind, Reach Out and Coorie In this winter

News story posted: 01/12/2020

Be Kind, Reach Out, Coorie In - Eden Project CommunitiesThroughout the pandemic this year we have seen great community spirit and resilience with community councils in particular playing a crucial role in supporting their communities.

Now a new campaign is encouraging everyone to continue offering help to their friends and neighbours this winter, but also to make sure they ask for it for themselves.

The Be Kind, Reach Out, Coorie In campaign from Eden Project Communities is about how we look after ourselves, our communities and each other.  It is organised in partnership with Community Action Response which is led by a group of organisations from different sectors with the joint aim to encourage everyone to do what they can to support their communities, and particularly vulnerable and isolated people, during the Covid-19 crisis and beyond.

As well as suggestions for winter acts of kindness, there's signposting to resources on mental health and self-care, including Samaritans and Breathing Space.

Community councils can get involved and share the sentiment behind the campaign with their communities in a number of ways.

The Eden Project Communities website has resources, suggestions and signposting to services that can offer support. There’s also social media graphics, some suggested social media content, and posters that can be printed (including space for your community council logo if you would like to include that).
