Business Improvement Districts Scotland logoBIDs Scotland, the national body supporting and growing Business Improvement Districts in Scotland, is inviting community organisations to come along to their special 10th anniversary event in Perth Concert Hall on 30 March to find out more about how communities can benefit from a BID partnership.

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined geographical area of a town, commercial district, or tourism and visitor area, where businesses vote to invest collectively in local improvements resulting in an improved business environment and improved local economic growth. More information on BIDs can be found on Scottish Government’s website - http://www.gov.scot/Topics/Government/local-government/17999/22235

Grant funding is available for development trusts, community councils, and other local groups working in partnership with their local businesses and the local authority to develop proposals for a Business Improvement District. The grant funding is to encourage community led regeneration and local partnerships, and to support the development of city, town centre, tourism and visitor, rural, business parks, and single business sector BIDs.

Key speakers at the event include Deputy First Minister John Swinney; The Association of German Chambers of Commerce on Neighbourhood Improvement Districts; CEO and President of Civitas (USA) John Lambeth on growing the tourism sector through TBIDs; Ross Martin, CEO of the SCDI and many more.

This event is free to attend. To register for the event or view the full programme visit the event website.
