Attend BIDs Scotland Annual Gathering

News story posted: 14/03/2017

Community councils are invited to attend BIDs Scotland’s Annual Gathering on 28th March 2017 at Perth Concert Hall.

A Business Improvement District (BID) is part of a town, tourism and visitor area, commercial district, or specific theme (such as food and drink), in which businesses work together to invest in local improvements. The BIDs model is designed to help local businesses to improve their communities. There are 36 operational BIDs in Scotland and the model has been used in different environments, including town centres, business parks, industrial estates and tourism initiatives. For more information on BIDs, please go to https://beta.gov.scot/policies/regeneration/business-improvement-districts-bids/

Business Improvement Districts Scotland (BIDs Scotland) is the national organisation for BIDs in Scotland, providing support, advice and encouragement to business groups, communities and local authorities considering and developing a business improvement district.

This year’s BIDs Scotland Gathering will illustrate the impact, diversity and potential of Business Improvement Districts for towns, cities, sectors and infrastructure but fundamentally for Scotland’s economy and Scotland’s people.

Highlights for this year’s event include: Economist Neil McInroy on the new National Report on BIDs in Scotland; Scottish Government address; BID economic impact case studies; round table sessions shaping the future of BIDs; support and advice workshops; exhibition, fringe events, networking, BIDs showcase and news of links with European BIDs.

The Gathering is free to attend. To register your place, and for more information, please visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bids-scotland-gathering-2017-tickets-31317469394
