News story posted: 13/03/2018

Scottish and Southern Electricity Newtorks (SSE) is offering grants of up to £20,000 to support community resilience projects in the north of Scotland and central southern England.

The Resilient Communities Fund was established to support communities to improve their resilience. The fund is particularly focused on projects that help vulnerable or isolated people living in SSE’s network areas.

The fund will support projects that:

  • Protect the welfare of vulnerable community members through enhancing their resilience and improving community participation and effectiveness.
  • Enhance community facilities, services and communication specifically to support the local response in the event of a significant emergency event.

Last year 41 Scottish communities received funding.

£220,000 of funding is available in 2018. The fund is open to constituted community groups, not-for-profit organisations and registered charities working in our north of Scotland network area. Closing date for applications is 15th May 2018.
